Ms. Jennifer Kaahwa Katekaine is a health Systems specialist with over 15 years of experience in governance and health programs at the global, regional and national levels in various countries in Africa, America, and Asia (specifically, Botswana, Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Rwanda, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, United States of America and Zanzibar). She has over 10 years of experience in policy development, proposal writing, program design, program management, and program evaluations. Possess additional skills set, encompassing the six WHO building blocks of a public health system and more: Health Policy, Governance, Leadership, Health Workforce, Health Care Financing, Health Information Systems, Strategic Management, Organizational Development, and Capacity Building. Jennifer is a resource person at the East and Southern African Management Institute where she facilitates in short courses including policy management, human resources management, strategic management, and customer care. She is a member of a community of practice under an international organization called U Facilitate, whose purpose is to coach leaders so they can create conditions that are needed to drive inclusion and collaboration, harnessing the diversity and creativity of their teams and stakeholders. Jennifer has led and been part of several consultancy teams, and worked in international jobs with persons of diverse cultures and backgrounds, through which she has gained leadership skills, learned cultural sensitivity, patience, flexibility and adaptability to change. Jennifer has broad experience of working with development partners including UNAIDS Technical Support Mechanism, UNFPA, USAID, PEPFAR, Global Fund, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and HIVOS Netherlands. She has a keen interest in using technology to enhance collaboration for a better world.
