Jose Luis has over 19 years of experience in the financial industry in roles in finance, sales, strategy, and business development in a variety of fields including banking, private equity, securities services, government affairs.  An international experience working in Mexico City, New York and Hong Kong has allowed him to develop an extensive network in Asia Pacific, North America and Latin America. He has been actively working on conservation and sustainability projects since 2014. 

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Boston University and speaks Spanish, English, and Italian. Defined as constant adapter, innovator, learner and connector, Jose Luis is driven by his passion on building teams, strong relationships and networks in areas where a real impact can be achieved. Recently, he left Citibank to pursue a full-time  career on the sustainability and conservation arenas.  He is currently working for IDH – the Sustainable Trade Initiative as an independent ecotourism consultant and as advisor (pro bono) for the Raja Ampat (Indonesia) Dive Resort Association.

Since 2014, Jose Luis has actively collaborated with a variety of NGOs (including Conservation International) and as part of the Citi Green Team HK. He has lead initiatives and events oriented towards sustainable practices, conservation, and preservation of endangered species (La Vaquita CPR, Mexico). In 2018, he worked for Conservation International Indonesia as a volunteer and was responsible for creating a Dive Resort Association focused on conservation, sustainable tourism, and community engagement in Raja Ampat, Indonesia. 

With over 20 years of experience as a diver and as an enthusiastic underwater photographer he has established as a mission of life to become an ambassador of the ocean. All his interests and hobbies have as common denominator the nature.
